Preheat the oven to 350☏ and lightly grease and or line a 9-inch tart pan with a removable bottom or a 8x8 square brownie tin.¾ cup Bobs Red Mill Old-fashioned Rolled Oats.2 cups fresh berries (I used Saskatoon berries for this one).Makes one 9 inch tart or can be made into bars using an 8x8 square pan I have partnered up with Bob’s Red Mill to bring you this fabulous recipe, but all opinions are my own. Its just as good with a little dusting of powdered sugar. You just need to decide if it’s going to be ice-cream or whip cream over your slice. It’s quicker to make than a pie and the fruit really shines in it. Dessert couldn’t be more no-fuss than with this tart. And I love the cardamom with berries - a combo I used in my spiced blueberry pie and it also really works well with strawberry and rhubarb like in my rhubarb crisp. The cinnamon would be great for a fall version of this with apples or pears. If you would like to spice up the filling or the dough a little more feel free to add a pinch or two of cinnamon or cardamom. Bob’s Red Mill has all the products you need for all your baking needs while catering to those in your family who have specific food allergies with organic, gluten free, paleo, and vegan options - perfect for any summer recipe. The flavour and texture from both are perfect for this tart, both the base and the crumble. This tart is gluten free as it’s made with almond flour and gluten free old fashioned rolled oats from Bob’s Red Mill. The crumble gets nice and crunchy after it bakes up and the whole combination works really well with a scoop of vanilla icecream. They will breakdown into a jammier filling. That won’t happen as much if you use blueberries, blackberries, strawberries or currants. Some get very jammy and others stay whole. They have a bit of a tougher skin on them then blueberries and many bakers precook them before using them in pie but I don’t mind that they don’t break down fully in the pie. I used Saskatoon berries in this one that a very sweet friend of mine picked and gave me. Speaking of that filling - its a versatile one. Combined they turn into a great little crumble that gets pressed into the pan and crumbled over the filling. ![]() It’s made up of a simple dough made with oats, almond flour and butter. ![]() This and some icecream and dessert is sorted. This is a great make ahead dessert making it perfect for taking to summer bbqs and gatherings. A cross between a pie and a crumble that can be made in tart form or into crumble bars. Berry tarts like this one are quick and easy and a dessert everyone loves.

![]() SilkyPix is often criticized for it's ungainly UI - fair criticism and no question LR is superior. If you're doing light work and don't mind taking a raw conversion from SilkyPix into Photoshop or some similar app for further editing that difference becomes less important. This for me is the tip-the-scale difference. SilkyPix Developer Studio lacks local adjustment ability and the Pro version adds limited ability that does not rival LR. That capability is a huge time saver and is the primary reason that LR can often be relied upon to get the job done without recourse to another app - big advantage. LR's capability to accomplish local adjustments (gradient tool, adjustment brush) is only matched (and exceeded) by Capture One. LR has a more polished and easier to use UI making the job go more quickly. Lr has the feature set most commonly needed to complete an edit without resorting to other software. I would then curse daily as I used LR lamenting that it couldn't give me as good a raw conversion as SilkyPix. If I were forced to chose only one of the two I'd chose LR. All that I have to say further assumes this and so applies only to the raw conversion capabilities of the two programs. If you need LR's database management features then SilkyPix is off the table. SilkyPix has only a rudimentary file manager and simply can not be compared at all with LR in this regard. For example, the videos linked from this page are all about Lightroom 5, but most of that applies to Lightroom 6 as well.Īs gardenersassistant said, that's a complicated question.īefore going any further: LR is both a raw converter and DAM database software. I have found the Adobe TV Channel very useful in getting to know about the Adobe products. There are lots of other and probably rather better videos around, especially about the various Adobe products. You can find them here if you are interested. Linked to those threads I have made several videos which touch on various aspects of Lightroom and Silkypix. Part 5 is at and Part 6 is at When you have read some of this stuff you might want to ask some questions in that thread and/or in this forum, which may be more appropriate. It all started as "raw or JPEG?" but it's gone on to "what software is best for me?" with lots of contributions from people using different software. As well as looking at the other posts in that thread, that post has links taking you back to earlier threads. This includes a lot of discussion about Silkypix. There is a lot of very civilised discussion going on about this in the Panasonic Compact Camera forum at the moment (the people involved don't just use Panasonic cameras, so don't be concerned about what camera you use). ![]() ![]() It's a complicated question as to what would be the best software for you to use. I am a complete beginner in digital editing. Feature-wise is SILKYPIX Developer Studio more on it's level? I also heard about Adobe Premiere Elements, which is a younger brother of Adobe Lightroom. P.S. I am a complete beginner in digital editing. Feature-wise is SILKYPIX Developer Studio more on it's level? My question is which of the versions compared there is on par with Adobe Lightroom feature-wise and that can let me accomplish what I can acomplish in Adobe Lightroom? From oldest to newest version which one is the first that can offer what can be accomplished in Adobe Lightroom? The point is, if it's SE version 7 then I wouldn't need to spend more to gain what I can from SE version 7. SILKYPIX Developer also comes in Pro Edition and it looks like SE that I have is actually Standard Edition but it's not latest according to this comparison sheet: ![]() I am wondering how good this software is for digital editing because today Adobe Lightroom is widely used for this purpose. Tower Hill has two levels of high-end home insurance: Prime Plus and Spire. Tower Hill offers coverage that is geared specifically toward homes with high values and is typically available for homes worth between $750,000 and $5 million. It also offers several less-ubiquitous coverage options to protect your property, as well as flood coverage and extended limits for owners of high-value homes. The company, however, does not provide automobile insurance. In addition to typical home insurance offerings, like coverage for your home's structure and your possessions, the company has a variety of policies available that may supplement traditional (HO-3) home insurance. Tower Hill's coverage options are fairly broad, meaning insurance shoppers are likely to find the type of coverage they need from the company. People considering buying coverage from Tower Hill will almost always have to work with an agent or broker to get a quote or purchase a policy. However, the company's limited online tools make the process of actually buying insurance coverage more challenging than with some of its competitors, which provide the ability to complete the purchase entirely online. With the recent increase in popularity of Halloween, combined with stricter health and safety regulations around fires and fireworks, the future of Bonfire Night is somewhat under threat. Nowadays Bonfire Night, as many prefer to call it, has all but lost its original focus and perhaps even its appeal. The commemoration had begun to lose its religious and political undertones and in 1859 the Observance of 5th November Act was repealed. Towards the end of the 18th Century, children began walking the streets with homemade masked effigies of Guy Fawkes, begging for "a penny for the Guy." As such, Guy Fawkes eventually replaced the Pope atop the burning bonfires and the day shifted from Gunpowder Treason Day to Guy Fawkes Day. Celebrations became more elaborate with fireworks and mini explosives being let off and on many occasions the night became a very raucous and sometimes violent event. In the many years that followed, effigies of the Pope were burnt on November 5 continuing the anti-Catholic sentiment of the time. |
